A: I wanted to be a doctor — same field, just different title. Q: How did you get into your field? A: I was a stay-at-home mom and a bartender, but one morning I decided to go to school. I went to school, had three jobs and took care of two kids. Q: Would you recommend your career for other people? Why? A: Yes, in a heartbeat. It’s what I love to do. Q: What do you do to relax? A: I was a Special Projects, Classified Programs, Security Officer with General Dynamics Corporation. In 1982, we purchased property in Poolville and operated Diamond M Ranch, raising cattle and selling hay. Due to Betsy (my wife) incurring a work place injury, we moved to Weatherford in 2002 in order to put her closer to her doctors. I enlisted in the military as soon as I was 17 years old, serving in the Army both active, National Guard and Army Reserve for 31 years. During my career I was assigned to units in Armored Cavalry, Air Cavalry, Artillery and Military Police. I retired with the rank of Command Sergeant Major E9. Between military tours and periods of employment at General Dynamics, I pursued a career in law enforcement. After receiving a degree in Police Science, I was a deputy sheriff at the Wise County Sheriff’s Department. In 1972, I was elected Constable, Pct. 4, Wise County, then after another military tour I worked as a patrol officer at the Bridgeport Police Department. I have also been employed at the Midland County and Parker County Sheriff’s departments. I was fortunate to
