The relationship between Grace
First Presbyterian and Troop 76
remains strong and growing. Along
with a thriving Cub Scout pack
and Boy Scout troop, Grace First
Presbyterian also charters a Venture
Crew led by D.R. Green. Although
troop membership numbers have
ebbed and flowed through the years,
the troop has persevered and is one
of the largest troops in Parker County.
Brian Moon is the troop’s current
scout master. In 2014, Moon was
named the Scout Master of the Year
for the Brazos Valley District of the
Longhorn Council. When asked
what he thinks attracts scouts to
Troop 76, Moon said,” I think scouts
want to join our troop because of
our commitment to being as true to
the scouting program as possible,
coupled with high adult and youth
involvement as well as the variety of activities offered through
the troop. Troop 76 members care
about making sure we are offering
not only a quality program, but one
that reaches as many interests of our
scouts as we can while focusing on
keeping it fun.”
