didn’t care if it took five years as long as I can survive. But at least it will be up to me if I make it.” He completed farrier’s school and apprenticed with David Edens for four years, riding along with him and learning everything he could.  “I was very fortunate because maybe three months out of horseshoeing school a guy out of Graham, Texas, contacted me and asked if I’d like to work with him. I didn’t know the opportunity that was in front of me at the time. The first two years it was about two to three days a week and the last year and a half it tapered off to one to two days a week,” he said. “I was very fortunate. I went right into working with him. I mean he was shoeing, still does, a lot of these top cutting horses around and I was working on horses that were some of the best in the world. You know, that made me a little nervous, but the fact that he [David Edens] had confidence that I wasn’t going to do anything detrimental to the horse was good for me. It was hard to not want to work for someone like that Little Feather Equestrian Center - Why I Serve - As you may know, a Trustee receives no compensation, and the service we provide is often difficult, sometimes even contentious.
