PARKER COUNTY SHERIFF’ S POSSE

Chicken Mafia was established circa 2010 after a crazy idea of producing a poultry sale on the county fairgrounds in Charleston, Arkansas. With minimal understanding of how a chicken sale would work, we took out radio adds, built a sale ring, hired auctioneers, threw together a sound system and BOOM! We had a sale! We had absolutely no idea how many buyers or sellers would show up to participate. On the day of the sale we got a call telling us there were cars, trucks, vans, and trailers loaded with chickens lined up down the road at 6am! Problem was... sale wasn’ t supposed to start until noon. Thats when we knew we had found a super opportunity to re-create the old chicken swaps from long ago.
After a long day of selling chickens for 8 hours straight, we knew we would need to have another sale, and soon! That led into a fall sale.. then another spring sale... and pretty soon we boasted about having the biggest one-day chicken sale in Arkansas!
Our crowds grew large enough to attract politicians, mayors, police, 4-H groups, and other local organizations. Many of the local school groups would have fundraisers along with our sale. We also held several benefit auctions during the sale, raising money for families in need, AGRI and 4H groups.. buying show animals at local fairs to support the FFA and AGRI programs in a tri county area.
We have made several chicken connections throughout the years and received many phone calls from people wanting a specific kind of chicken... or ostritch.. or pigeon or peacocks... you get the idea?! We never turned anyone down, and worked hard to make a connection between buyer and seller. We bragged to them we could get whatever breed of chicken they wanted... That’ s how the“ Chicken Mafia” was born.
Fast forward to 2024, and after working many years on the professional rodeo tour as a rodeo clown, wearing my Chicken Mafia shirts, I would get asked what exactly the Chicken Mafia was. At airport security, rodeos, gas stations, flights, and Pro Rodeo press parties, everyone wanted to know what we were all about. So, I figured it was time to launch the daily shenanigans of the Chicken Mafia on a more global scale.
I travel all over the US, Canada, and Mexcio, performing at pro rodeos and pro bull riding events. But rural Arkansas is where I call home. I am an elected Justice of the Peace in my county, I serve on the Franklin County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, I attend First Free Will Baptist Church in Charleston, where I serve and enjoy helping our youth. Follow along, you never know where we will be or what adventure we will find ourselves on!
