PARKER COUNTY SHERIFF’ S POSSE
Many Thanks!
Reflecting on an Honored Year
It has been a true honor to serve as the Parker County Sheriff’ s Posse Captain this year, a year that marks not only the 79th anniversary of our Posse, but also the 250th birthday of our great county. I am deeply thankful to be a small part of these celebrations.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our sponsors and supporters. Your unwavering support makes it possible for us to continue preserving our Western heritage and hosting events that bring our community together. Whether through financial support, volunteering your time, or cheering us on from the sidelines, each of you plays an invaluable role in the success of the Parker County Sheriff’ s Posse. Thank you for standing with us and helping to keep our traditions alive.
The Sheriff’ s Posse is about much more than one person, one year, or a single accomplishment. It is about the nearly 150 men who come together with a shared purpose: to preserve our Western heritage and to step up whenever called upon, doing whatever it takes to get the job done. We stand on the shoulders of generations of men who faced the challenge of keeping our traditions alive while balancing the demands of rapidly changing times.
I want to extend my special thanks to our Sweetheart, Brenley Gilbert, for representing the PCSP and leading us in parades and events all year long. Brenley, as a 4th generation Sweetheart, we are extremely proud— congratulations!
I dedicate the year 2026 to the memory of the wonderful members we lost this last year: Bill Jordan, David Nash, Dr. Noel Bryan and Phil Livingston. On Saturday evening at the rodeo, the PCSP will hold a memorial in their honor. We owe so much to these men and to those who came before them— we would not be here without their unwavering commitment and sacrifice.
I am also deeply grateful to my wife, Pinky, for all she does behind the scenes each day, making it possible for me to serve. And I cannot forget my horse, Taz – the only horse I have ridden since joining the Posse 13 years ago. Together, we have shared every parade, grand entry, grand opening, and trail ride— from Fredericksburg to Cheyenne, from the Red Steagall 100-mile wagon train to bringing joy to nursing homes during Covid pandemic.
Thank you all for the privilege of serving you this year. Here’ s to carrying our heritage forward with pride and unity.
