Aims of Park Hill Primary
School
Aims:
To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for learners.
To provide a welcoming, pleasant, clean and attractive environment into which
parents/carers are proud to send their child(ren).
To cater for the needs of all children ensuring they achieve their full potential
academically, morally, socially, physically and spiritually, irrespective of gender,
culture, race or disability.
Encourage a positive ethos by listening to pupils/parents/carers, staff and the wider
community.
To encourage life skills in a positive and happy community of adults and children,
thus preparing children for the challenges of the community outside school.
To ensure work and progress is monitored and evaluated, ensuring that pupil’s
needs are identified and their achievements acknowledged.
To build positive partnerships with fellow ‘Trust’ member schools,
parents/carers/Governors, the LA, outside agencies and the wider community.
Community
To actively promote a multicultural education so children recognise who they are
and ‘where they came from’ – Citizenship agenda- in order that they grow up to be
responsible citizens in the future
To give opportunities for pupils to have an understanding of faiths
To be equal in our treatment of all pupils and staff within the school and to be fully
inclusive overcoming barriers such as race, gender, ability and disability
To teach and lead by example and give care, guidance and support at every level
within the community
To give opportunities for pupils to question and enquire, enabling them to learn
individual independence in the outside world
To actively promote an understanding of global issues and be pro-active in caring
for the earth’s resources
Learning
To ensure that every child makes progress and achieves to the very best of their
ability, be it academically or physically
To give pupils the opportunity to voice their opinions through the delivery of the
school’s Diversity and Equality Policy.
To provide a calm, unbiased atmosphere for all members of the school community
in which they can learn, play and grow
To encourage pupils to take a responsible attitude to work
To enable pupils to develop their self-esteem through success and achievement
Actively promote healthy lifestyles through sport, educating children about exercise
and healthy eating
Parents
To encourage parents so that they can effectively support their child throughout
their education
To support parents to prepare their children to become caring citizens within the
society of the future
To encourage parents to take part in the daily life of the school
