Repeat with each different ingredient – introduce different tastes such as sweet, salty, sour, spicy, bitter etc.
Method: 1. Explore around the house( especially the kitchen!) 2. Have a sniff of unique scents of different objects 3. Explain and describe the different scents 4. Encourage the“ right” sniffing technique, breathing in and not out 5. Observe their reactions, encourage them to try every scent if they resist.
Tips: With young kids, their concentration span won’ t last for more than 5- 10 mins, so keep it short and do just a few objects a day. Try different parts of the house e. g. the bedroom; baby powder, perfume, scented candles or the bathroom – soap, air fresheners, toothpaste.
