Hi, I’ m Michelle, the new editor of Parents Press. After working on the last edition of the newsletter with Christina, I have now taken over the editor role with Christina now in charge of design { or making it look pretty!} We have a lot of great ideas in the pipeline to improve the newsletter, including moving the newsletter to a digital one.... so watch your inbox.
I’ d love to hear any suggestions you have for the newsletter, we produce it for you our members so we want to make sure we are providing what you want to read! With the winter weather bearing down on us I thought it was only right we have a winter theme for this edition.
We have some great information for looking after babies over the winter months, and helping to keep the older kids entertained. Winter can be hard for parents with the kids inside for extended periods of time, so finding new ways to keep them busy can be a godsend. But don’ t be afraid to get out and enjoy the outdoors over winter, it can be invigorating to get out in the cold and have a run around before coming back indoors and snuggling up by the fire. Hi everyone! Welcome to the latest edition of the Parents Press.
Once again, the year seems to be flying by and winter is upon us. Here at the Hamilton Parents Centre there have been lots of changes over the last year. We have had some long term committee members leave us and had some great and enthusiastic new members join. In particular, I would like to say a huge thank you to Wendy Flintoff-Baker who has been on committee for approximately 6 years,

including holding the role of treasurer for much of that time. Wendy has done some awesome work for us and we are lucky that she has taken on a role as Regional Coordinator so we will still be able to tap into her knowledge.
Our AGM is on 26th June this year and we would love to have lots of our members attend and have a say in who is on the committee and how the centre can go forward( see Facebook page for details of when and where).
We are in full planning mode for what Hamilton Parents Centre will be doing over the next 12-18 months and we have some really exciting things planned for Hamilton parents and parents to be. Watch this space, and make sure you like us on Facebook so you know what’ s coming up. And if you would like to be part of the excitement, please come forward and take a place on the committee – we always welcome new faces and ideas.
