Cherishing Memories:
Keepsakes
Childhood goes by so quickly, and it’ s easy to forget the small moments that make up our days. Here’ s a few ideas to help you record those memories for future years and generations.
A treasure Box
Create a keepsake for your child by creating a treasure box.
This would make a great sentimental gift that you could give your child either at their 21st birthday or save it until they have their own children.
You could stick something in for each year for the first 21 years of their life, or just add things in randomly as you see fit – things like their first shoes, first teeth, piece of hair, artwork, clothes, and souvenirs from holidays, little toys and books, school reports etc.
Keepsakes
Capture a moment in time, with a casting of your baby’ s feet or hands, or maybe your pregnant belly.

Turn their everyday items into something special. Frame some of their shoes, to show how they have grown, like a growth chart or turn some of their clothes into a quilt.
Check out places like Pinterest for plenty of ideas on creating different keepsakes of your children.
Blogging
Blogging can be a great way to capture the day to day activity of your family. Blogs are a modern online version of a journal or diary.
Blogs can be set up for free and relatively easily with programs like Wordpress or Blogger.
You can capture small moments with anecdotes and photos of your daily life.
Blogs are normally available for anyone to access, but you can also set them up to be private.
Check out Kiwi Bloggers for some examples of parenting / mummy blogs.
Journals
There are plenty of journals available for you to easily jot down memories from your pregnancy through to school days. If you prefer structure
10 and prompts the journals will be a great choice to help you record details on happenings with your child.

Of course a journal can be as simple as a notebook that you jot down notes on your child / family as they happen, things like the funny things your kids say, their little habits, favourite activities, toys or places visited.
Scrapbooking
Scrapbooking provides a way to combine photos and memories in one, and produce some lovely keepsakes for you and your family.
Scrapbooking can be done digitally as well as a hard physical copy. Scrapbooking papers and embellishments can be found in craft stores and many $ 2 shops have things suitable.
