The annual “Service Above Self” awards celebration was held in
December and recognized over 2,700 Rowan-Salisbury students for
helping others through voluntary service in our community. This
equated to over
21,000 combined
hours of service
that our children
gave without being
required to do so
­ they just simply
give because
this is what they
do. Now that is
Extraordinary!
As an added treat,
the Knox Middle
School Jazz Band
entertained the
audience prior to
the event with
lively holiday
music.
Although first,
second and third
place winners in
individual and
group
entries are
announced - All
Students Are
honored winners!
Each student has
the opporutnity to:
n Walk Across the
Catawba College
Stage
n Receive a
Framed Certificate
n Shake
Hands with the
Superintendent
n Have a Photo
Taken with Santa!
