What is CEP?
In a CEP school, ALL enrolled students will receive a nutrition breakfast &
lunch at no cost, regardless of family income.
What if my student transfers to a school that is not CEP?
If your student receives a meal or transfers to a school that is not a part of
the CEP program, you will be responsible for the cost of your child’s meal.
You may apply for Free or Reduced Benefits at that time, if you feel your
family qualifies.
What about siblings?
If you have other children who are enrolled in a non-CEP school, you will be
responsible for the cost of meals provided at that non-CEP school. However,
if you feel your family may qualify for Free or Reduced Meal Benefits, you
are encouraged to complete a Free & Reduced Meal Application on-line at
www.lunchapplication.com, or see the school Cafeteria Manager for a paper
application and apply.
What if my child wants extras?
CEP covers the cost of breakfast and lunch each day. For an additional entrée
or snack, you will be responsible to cover the cost of those items. Charges for
these extra items will not be permitted.

Diet Order
Cabarrus County Schools School Nutrition will provide food substitutions for
any child who qualifies as “disabled” under ADA, Section 504, or IDEA. If your
child has an IEP, or Medical Care Plan from the Exceptional Child Division that
includes feeding modifications or alternatives, this document will be followed
by School Nutrition.
Children that require meal substitutions must have an up-to-date Diet Order
completed and signed by a licensed physician on file at the school and CNP
Offi ce. Diet orders may carry over each year, as long as, there are no changes
in the meal substitutions prescribed. A letter describing the limitation of Diet
Orders and the Diet Order form can be obtained through the school nurse.
