Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year ! We are excited about the new year and look forward to educating your children .
Cabarrus County Schools continues our tradition of offering families a variety of educational opportunities this year with the opening of our second early college – Cabarrus Early College of Technology .
Additionally , students attending W . R . Odell Elementary in grades 3-5 will have a brand new building this year . Students in kindergarten , first and second grades will remain at on the existing Odell campus – W . R . Odell Primary as it will now be called . Additionally , Charles E . Boger Elementary and Royal Oaks Elementary will share a location for the 2016-2017 school year while construction on a new Royal Oaks Elementary begins .
Our staff has spent the summer attending numerous professional development conferences and classes so that we can continue to provide our students with innovative classroom experiences and enrichment opportunities .
Of course , technology will continue to play a role in how we deliver instruction , but we know that no device , app or digital tool can take ever take the place of a great teacher delivering an engaging lesson . Our teachers continue to lead the way in effectiveness for our region – ranking # 1 for the third consecutive year based on student growth data .
We are grateful for the opportunity to educate your children and for your support of our school system . We ’ re excited about the new school year and can ’ t wait to get started !
