Message from Superintendent
Greetings!
This is the final issue of
Parent Teacher Magazine
for the 2014-2015 school
year, but it also is my first
issue as superintendent.
I’d like to take this
opportunity to say once
more how very excited and
proud I am to be leading
Cabarrus County Schools.
Since beginning my new
assignment, I have been
holding ‘listening sessions’
where you have shared
your thoughts about
what’s working well in
CCS and areas you’d like
to see improvements. I
appreciate your thoughtful
responses and candor. Although we won’t be able to tackle and
resolve every issue before the school year ends, please know that we
are committed to looking for ways to improve.
For the remainder of the year, my focus will be on our students,
our district organization, and our community. I am looking forward
to more opportunities to meet our students, staff, parents and
community members throughout the summer and of course, once the
new school year begins.
Starting in September, I will host a series of community meetings
throughout the district. These sessions will provide me additional
opportunities to hear from you. We will share the schedule for the
meetings this summer, so stay tuned.
In closing, let’s help all our students have a strong finish to the
school year. There are many opportunities for distractions, so staying
focused is very important to helping students be successful.

Graduation Information
Cabarrus County Schools will conduct the graduation ceremonies for the Performance Learning Center, Central Cabarrus High, Concord
High, Cox Mill High, Hickory Ridge High, Jay M. Robinson High, Mount Pleasant High, and Northwest Cabarrus High at the Cabarrus Arena and
Events Center, located at 4551 Old Airport Road, in Concord.
The graduation ceremony for the Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School will be held at Cox Mill High School.
