The second semester is off to a great start! In this issue we are celebrating many successes,
including a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Mount Pleasant Middle School as well as honoring
many schools for their diverse achievements.
We are pleased to share the newest edition of the CCS Look Book with you. This edition highlights
our 2016 Principal of the Year Mike Jolley, as well as updated statistics and figures about our school

ECHS Selected School of Innovation and Excellence
Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School has been
recognized as a School of Innovation and Excellence by NC New
Schools/Breakthrough Learning for leadership in academic excellence
and innovative practice! The selection was based on a combined
review of data and evidence based assessments. ECHS now has the
option to host learning tours and study visits to share success stories
with other schools and administrators. ECHS will be recognized at an
upcoming Board of Education meeting. Congratulations!

BHES Teachers Receive Bright Ideas Grant
Beverly Hills Elementary School teachers
received a Bright Ideas grant from Union Power
Cooperative. The $1,500 grant will be used to
create Global Culture Boxes. The boxes will
represent different countries and teachers will
be able to check out boxes from the library to
increase student exposure to global countries.
