was not preapproved. A record of hours and evaluation must be submitted after the study is completed, before credit can be awarded. Credit will be calculated as explained below.
Teacher’ s Assistant & Sports Manager Credit
Students may submit an application to the Secondary Level Principal, after first consulting with a teacher, to be considered for a teacher’ s assistant( T. A.) or sports manager position. When the primary role is service to the teacher( such as grading, filing, and clerical tasks), the student may apply to receive up to 0.25 credit to be listed on the transcript as“ Service.” When the role includes not only service to the teacher, but also instructional tasks that provide learning opportunities for the student, the student may apply to receive up to 0.25 credit listed as“ Teacher’ s Assistant” or“ Team Manager” on the transcript and count towards the Career & Life Skills graduation requirement. A record of hours and evaluation must be submitted at the end of the related period. Credit will be calculated as explained below.
Calculating External / Additional Credit Hours
For additional credit opportunities( such as T. A., Sports Manager, Service, and Independent Study), high school credit shall typically be calculated as follows: 0.25 credit for a minimum of 30 hours.
High School Credit for Participation in Sports
Students in Grades 9-12 who complete a regular season in a qualifying varsity sport and meet the necessary requirements may earn physical education credit( 0.25 credit) for their participation in that sport; it may only meet up to one of the two P. E. course requirements.
