Rights & Responsibilities of Students

The Senior School continues to develop a culture of responsibility as a community of young learners who work and play together in an inclusive environment . We care for each other and the world around us , and embrace both our similarities and differences . The following rights and responsibilities help to guide the actions of students in their growth toward responsible citizenship .
Rights
• To feel safe
• To belong
• To learn
• To be yourself
• To be respected
Responsibilities
• Treat all members of the school community with respect and fairness
• Attend classes regularly and punctually
• Adhere to attendance procedures and , in particular , those related to late arrival , early or temporary dismissal and extended absences
• Wear the correct uniform according to uniform expectations ( e . g ., skirt length , etc .)
• Come to class prepared to learn and engage fully in class activities
• Be engaged and participate in curricular and co-curricular learning
• Be responsible for your own behaviour and decisions
• Seek assistance from an adult when you know of a student who is struggling or challenged in any way
• Strive for resolution of conflict or disagreements
• Be responsible for your own possessions ( Crofton House School is not responsible for lost or stolen items )
• Keep classrooms , change rooms , corridors and all public areas tidy and free of garbage
• Treat the grounds , buildings and facilities of the School with respect
• Report damage to any part of the School such as graffiti or accidental breakage immediately to the school office , a member of staff or one of the Senior School directors
• Abstain from using substances such as alcohol , tobacco , vapourizing products ( e . g ., e-cigarettes or vaping devices ) and illegal drugs prior to coming to school or while participating in any on- / off-campus school functions or activities , and from possessing such substances while on campus or while attending any school-related events
• Demonstrate care of self , others , school property and the environment
