Rights & Responsibilities of Students
The Junior School is a community of young learners who work and play together in an inclusive environment . We care for each other and the world around us , and embrace both our similarities and differences . The following rights and responsibilities help to guide the actions of students in their growth toward responsible citizenship .

Responsibilities
• Do the right thing
• Be prepared and punctual
• Be engaged in your learning
• Work and play with full commitment
• Participate in co-curricular learning

• Be kind in your thought , words and actions , including online
• Treat others the way you want to be treated
• Listen to each other
• Be accepting of others
• Be inclusive of others at work and play ( i . e ., no best friends , best groups or cliques at school )
• Resolve conflict peacefully through nonaggressive means
• Report to a caring adult when you or someone else needs help
• Discourage and / or report the misbehaviour of others
• Respect your belongings and those of others
• Be responsible for your own possessions ( Crofton House School is not responsible for lost or stolen items )
• Keep classrooms , changing rooms , corridors and all public areas tidy and free of garbage
• Ask permission from a staff member before using or borrowing any school equipment
• Respect and follow guidance related to personal technology items .
• Use cell phones and personal devices ( e . g . Apple watches ) outside of instructional time ( between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm ) only .
• All devices must be turned off during school hours and stored in a place that is out of sight ( e . g . a locker ).
