The CHS Parents ’ Auxiliary
The CHS Parents ’ Auxiliary ( PA ) leads by example . Year after year , the extraordinary dedication and volunteerism of parents / guardians led by the PA makes CHS an active , inclusive and engaged community .
Annual PA fees ( included in tuition ), coupled with support from parent / guardians volunteers and guidance from the elected volunteer board , allow the PA to coordinate many events and programs that are integral to CHS .
Objectives
• To create an active , inclusive , and engaged community
• To provide and coordinate a variety of volunteer opportunities for parents to become involved and active in our community
• To host community-building events and celebrations and organize programs
• To enhance a sense of belonging for students and families
• To support CHS in its mission and assist , where appropriate , in supplying equipment and supplies that contribute to the CHS experience
Volunteering
Parents / guardians can participate in PA activities by volunteering for an hour or a day , planning an event , contributing to the Buddy Program or
Backpack Drive , or being nominated to the PA Executive Board . In this way , parents / guardians can demonstrate the meaning of citizenship and become role models for their daughters .
Volunteer registration takes place in August as part of the Student Information Questionnaire that all families are required to complete before the beginning of each school year . Throughout the year , volunteer opportunities are included in the bi-weekly newsletter and on the My CHS Community Portal .
PA Events Highlights
The Back-to-School and Year-End BBQs : Whole community gatherings launch and close the year . These events are fun and social offering families an opportunity to get together with with parents , students , and staff to celebrate the year .
The Crofton House Winter Bazaar : The CHS PA hosts a festival-style Winter Bazaar , bringing our community to campus . Months of hard work from volunteers come together to make a day that is much more than a school fair . It is about citizenship , connection , and , of course , family fun ! Each year , the proceeds are donated to a charity selected by the PA .
