The Wade Library

The Wade Library is an active-learning environment located on the main level of the Senior School . The library provides access to a wide range of print and electronic resources for the purpose of research , study , collaborative learning and recreational reading . The library website provides online access to the library catalogue , subscription databases and subjectbased research guides .
The Program Coordinator , Library and Information Literacy , manages library operations , collaborates with teachers and curates the library collections in support of learning and student agency . In addition , the Program Coordinator teaches lessons on research and information literacy to help students develop the skills to locate , evaluate , responsibly use and effectively communicate information . They are also available for one-to-one research assistance . The Library Technician provides library support , catalogue services and circulation assistance . Students are encouraged to make full use of the library staff , facility and its resources .
Students are encouraged to sign out resources throughout the year . However , student accounts will be charged for damaged , lost or unreturned items . The Responsible Use of Technology Agreement applies to all digital and web-based resources provided by the Wade Library .

Student Services

The Department of Student Services offers a variety of support systems to meet the academic , emotional and physical needs of Crofton House School students , mirroring the School ’ s philosophy of supporting the whole child . We work in partnership with the student ’ s family , Head of Grade , advisor and teachers to provide the best support system each student needs to thrive on all these levels .
Personal Counselling
Personal Counselling is an integral service provided by the Student Services Department at CHS where the main objective is to promote student well-being . Our personal counsellors collaborate with the school community to offer one-to-one and group counselling , run social and emotional wellbeing sessions , and facilitate parent / guardian and staff education workshops . In addition , the personal counsellors consult with parents / guardians , healthcare providers and community services to strategically support students at school .
Issues that are commonly counselled include :
• peer-related issues such as conflict
• parent / guardian relationship challenges
• grief and loss
• developing coping strategies for stress or academic issues .
