Medications

ASBESTOS

Federal regulations require that schools be inspected for the presence of asbestos, a toxic material that has been used in the construction industry for a number of years. This school has been inspected for asbestos containing materials and the results of the inspections are contained in the Asbestos Management Plan. This plan is available for your preview at this school, the District Office, or a copy of the plan can be provided to you for the cost of reproduction.

When a child needs prescription or over the counter medication, proper paperwork must be filled out with the office. You can find a medication authorization form and health care plans at http://wsd.net/departments/support/nursing. Medication will be kept in a locked drawer in the office and administered by the school nurse and/or trained office staff.

Vision screening will occur in the fall. If you do not want your child's vision screened, please send a note to the school stating such.

School Visitations

We encourage you to visit our school. Please check in at the office for a visitor’s pass. Teachers are busy conducting classroom activities and are not available for personal conversations regarding your child. If you need questions answered, please set up a conference time when you can have the teacher’s full attention.

Tobacco Free Campus

The Weber School Board has adopted a policy that prohibits smoking, e-cigarettes, or any other use of tobacco products on district property. This includes schools, district office buildings, playgrounds, outside areas, and field trips.

Library Center

Students are encouraged to check out materials and books from our Library Center and return them by the due date. There are no overdue fines; however, if materials are lost or damaged, the student will be assessed a fee dependent on the cost of replacement.

Fire Drills/Earthquake Drills

Required monthly evacuation drills are conducted to practice safe exit from the school in case any emergency occurs that requires vacating the school.

Birthday Treats

Birthday treats are store purchased and in individual portions or non-food items to celebrate birthdays are welcome. We ask that you send items with the student or bring them in during the LAST 15 minutes of the school day. Cakes, balloons, etc. distract from the learning environment.
