What started as a rice farm in 2014 has grown to a seasonal oasis , boasting fig trees and Muscadine grapevines , private tractor rides and animal encounters , as well as the highly sought-after self-pick fruit baskets . This year , Congaree and Penn will host its first Pumpkin Party . The one-day event will feature live music , story time and face painting with a variety of food trucks to satisfy every appetite . One pumpkin per guest is included in the price of admission . The event is from 3 to 7 p . m . on October 9 . Mark your calendars , tickets are sure to sell out fast . Unable to make the Pumpkin Party ? The farm is still a tranquil environment to escape the daily frenzy of urban and suburban life . With specific family hours every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a . m . to 4 p . m ., children are sure to expel some energy exploring the 330-acre farm . Meander along the curvy creek and greet one of the many animals you meet along the way ; goats , chickens , horses and the recently added emus .
