Dear Parents,
Welcome to Lamplighters Yeshivah! Whether this is your family’s first
year at Lamplighters or you’ve been a part of our school community for
some time, we welcome you to our extended family-- teachers, parents,
children and community members who are on a journey of customized
education for all children.
At Lamplighters our mantra is, It Starts With One. Our whole school is
built around the needs of each individual child and our work as parents
and educators is to support each one on their path toward self-actualiza-
tion-- on becoming a Lamplighter. And to meet that aim, we - our dynamic
community of parents, teachers and school staff - must be aligned with
the same values and goals. We must be guided by the same principles.
This newly revamped Parent Handbook is full of super important infor-
mation. It includes a look at the Lamplighters Model and our beliefs about
children. There’s a comprehensive section on our educational approach
and values and how they are reflected in the classroom, as well as con-
crete examples of how you can bring them home. Of course, it includes
vital information about Day-to-Day happenings like arrival and dismissal,
procedures, dress code, security, special programming and the PTO. And
new this year is our Lamplighters’ Family Phonebook- a way for you to
connect with other families in our school community!
Please read this handbook thoroughly and refer to it throughout the year.
Of course, we welcome all questions, suggestions and feedback! Here’s to
a another great year of school and, most importantly, partnering together
to unearth the potential of each one of our students-- our children.
