Celebrating the Arts Evening
During the third term we celebrate our budding artists and musicians in early evenings at the school.
Even if your child is not performing, families are encouraged to attend from 18h00 to 20h00 to celebrate
our children.
Class/Group Photographs
All class photographs are taken on this day allocated in term 1 so try to ensure that your children are at
school that day. Each year we have a different theme, and children are asked to dress accordingly.
Other group photographs are also taken on the same day. Assist your children in their packing as some
will need several changes of clothing, if they participate in several sports and extramural activities.
Day/Night Cricket
Since 1992, the three primary schools in
Pinelands have met to test their cricketing
prowess under lights at a local cricket field.
This event is organised by our school.
Whether you have a child playing first
team cricket or not, this is a lovely evening
for your family to watch cricket. The
cricket starts at 14:30 and our Red Connect
parents cater for this event. The Red
School team has always had the biggest
support at this event, so don’t let the boys
down! Arrange for the whole family to
have supper there, and arrive in your red
outfits.
Fun run/walk
In the final week of the third term, the grade 4 – 7 pupils run along the Elsieskraal Canal, while the
Foundation Phase children do their fun walk at school. Pinelands North is committed to healthy eating
and living, so all pupils are expected to participate.
Gala: Foundation Phase
The Foundation Phase gala takes place in our
school pool. This is a wonderful morning of
swimming, which includes fun races for all
grades and also a staff and parents’ race
against the grade 3s. The Red Connect provides
refreshments for parents.
Gala: Interhouse
Each year our Grade 2 – 7 pupils compete for
their houses in our school pool. Please attend
if you can – we try to alternate the athletics
and gala starting times so that parents get a chance to see their children participate. We also try to
include a parent/teacher/pupil race which all children thoroughly enjoy watching!
