P.A.R.C. Mag: Where did you grow up? Where did you draw some of your inspiration?

Phil: "I was born in Harlem and raised in the Bronx for 14 years then my mom moved us to Newport News, Virginia to get me and my brother away from the crazy environment that we were surrounded by growing up in the city. It was a beautiful struggle and hip-hop taught me how to maneuver and carry myself in the streets. I always had this drive to get my own and not depend on anyone, but I also liked helping others. I’m thankful for all the ups and downs that got me to this point and I wouldn’t change a thing."

P.A.R.C. Mag: Tell us about the name change or the transition from Cisetvblog to Phatflavaz? Why did you decide upon the name and what did you think about marketing prior to the change?

Phil: "It was a couple things 1. To put some separation from my production projects and the hip hop side of me 2. Phatflavaz was actually gonna be an underground hip hop radio podcast, which I may still do later down the road 3. I always like to reinvent myself, I had a good run with Cisetvblog but now with Phatflavaz, I will still carry that same vibe and energy but with a new look."

P.A.R.C. Mag: Can you tell us a little bit about your blog? How did you come up with the idea and why did you decide to focus on the Hip-Hop culture?

Phil: "I grew up watching Video Music Box after school, Yo MTV Raps, Rap City, Stretch & Bobbito to name a few, so I feel my job is to carry on the tradition of keeping it grassroots style for the culture. When you visit Phatflavaz.com you get the latest hip hop/soul/alternative music videos, mixtapes, interviews & entertainment news from indie artists to the popular artists in the industry, we stay away from the gossip we rather keep hip hop in a good light."

P.A.R.C. Mag: Besides the blog, you offer other services can you tell us what those are? How do people go about obtaining those services?

Phil: "Yes media production and editing services are something I offer. Recently, the focus has been more toward producing more of my own content with the first web series “Masters Of The Hustle” you can find on youtube. Serious inquiries can email @ [email protected]
