Service Learning aims to inform, involve, inspire, and move students to be seekers of knowledge and active participants in society. It connects school-based curriculum with the inherent concern young people have for their world. When students apply classroom knowledge to address an authentic community need in a process that allows initiative, time for reflection, and lets them demonstrate acquired skills and knowledge, they better understand what and why they learn. Not to mention that they contribute to or help to benefit others and the common good!
