YEARS

An effective mentoring program has the tools to help link employee and organizational needs and positively impact culture , job satisfaction , and retention . Mentoring programs offer employees a sense of belonging , which positively affects motivation . Mentees understand that the mentor program is not a guaranteed path to promotion but an investment in their personal and professional growth . The mentor and training programs accelerate growth within the firm , and they also avoid issues from developing into problems or lingering disputes . It is important that each mentee has an advocate that he or she can talk to confidentially and who will advocate , when appropriate , for that employee or just listen when needed .
Overall , the success of a business relies heavily on employee satisfaction , and a business ’ retention rate will lead to more qualified applicants . As such , law firms and their HR leaders must continue to assess what applicants are expecting in the new normal and assess how to address those expectations through programs and flexibility that allow the business to thrive and keep its employees who are the lifeblood of any business .
