Paper and Rubber Magazine Issue One - April 2014 | 页面 4

Welcome

Welcome to the first issue of what is undoubtedly Australia’s most exciting and cutting edge target and 3D archery e-magazine.

Born out of the depths a diehard target archer’s soul, Paper&Rubber aims to give all archers a modern and unique view of the target archery world, whether you are a down-to-the-core 3D shooter or a Sunday morning “50 arrows-for-the-fun-of it” type of archer, we all share the passion of loosing an arrow towards a targets centre.

As the archery scene in Australia grows, so does the talent pool within each and every club. It seems like week in, week out a new club record is smashed or a young archers’ personal best is hit out of the ball park. A lot of this can be owed to the availability of quality information from around the world and the ability to keep this information on a mobile phone or tablet with you, right in the side pocket of your quiver.

Technology is becoming more and more increasingly involved in our day to day archery, from live arrow by arrow scoring at the European Archery Festival in Telford, UK streamed via the internet to your iPad, to the rolling digital scoreboard programed by Scandinavian’s on display at your local club in Victoria.

This last season has seen Archery Australia introduce a world class computerised management system for free use by every AA club in the country. This system has provided a powerful platform for the smallest of club to accept online membership payments and host their own website and email marketing. Australia’s own Archery-Forum.com has reached a record number of members and posts, while World Archery’s Archery TV YouTube channel broadcast the World Cup finals live from the base of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

We can only wonder in awe what 2014 may bring, but I can assure it will be nothing short of amazing.
