Judges can be up to the age of 70 years old before they retire. So often their views on presentation in a court room are the look your grandparents (or in some cases great grandparents) would like.

So when speaking ensure your language matches your new look. The judge doesn't know street or text speak and he is not your bro or couz. Learn his title and speak clearly with respect no matter how angry you feel.

When you are in the witness stand always look at the judge in the eye and address him as much as possible, When being attacked by the opposition, to not respond, say -- please ask me that question again, and close your eyes before responding to give yourself a moment to respond. Ask the lawyer what page of the depositions that was on and could they read it to you again....

Judges do not like confrontation or aggression in the court, so let the other side be confrontational.
