Square District Restrictions
Starting at 3 a . m . on Sept . 25 , the square and a one block radius will be closed to all traffic and parking on Pancake Day , unless loading or unloading , or otherwise authorized .

Parade Marshals
This year , the Pancake Day Big Parade will feature our hometown heroes who have helped keep us safe during a pandemic that has claimed loved ones and continues to impact our lives so greatly . The following representatives will marshal Southern Iowa ’ s biggest parade as symbols of all healthcare workers and first responders who serve us every day .

Handicapped parking areas are located on East and West State Streets by the food courts , on North 12th behind the Main Stage and in the city lot on West Jackson . Must have state-issued handicapped permits .
Golf carts are not allowed

Randy Groff MercyOne Centerville on the square , unless authorized by the Centerville Police Department . No pets will be allowed on the square , except those participating in the Kiddie Parade .
There shall be no lawn chairs placed in the walkways of the square until the Big Parade begins at 1 p . m . Walkways will be marked on the sidewalks with a colored X ( weather permitting ). The Pancake Day Committee and the City of Centerville are not responsible for lost or stolen chairs .
During the parade , do not cross the street until the parade has completed both the inner and outer loops of the parade . This is dangerous and makes the parade less enjoyable for others .
Gourmet Pancakes
The employees of Amcor will be coordinating and working the Gourmet Pancake line in the tent on Pancake Day . Gourmet Pancakes are available in the south line for $ 5 per plate .
Customers in this line receive a choice of toppings : strawberries , blueberries , bananas , pecans , whipped cream , cherries , chocolate chips , rainbow sprinkles , chocolate syrup , maple syrup

Mercy Fun Run This year ’ s MercyOne Fun
Run has been canceled .
Kiddie Pull
Registration for the Kiddie Pull will be 3 p . m . on the southwest side of the square with eight age categories ( 4 to 11 year olds ).
All participants must register during this time to participate in the pull which begins at approximately 3:30 p . m . There is no registration fee for the Kiddie Pull .
This is a sanctioned event which means that the winner can advance to the state pedal pull competition next fall .
A ribbon will go to each participant with 1st , 2nd and 3rd place winners awarded in each category .
Participants are reminded that good sportsmanship must be displayed at all times , shoes must be worn , the puller must remain seated at all times and the decision of the pull authority is final .

Additionally , we will still honor the family of Frank Ollinger , who was slated to be the Pancake Day Parade Marshal in 2020 . Unfortunately , Pancake Day was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
