Alternative and Renewable Fuel and
Vehicle Technology Fund
Coachella Valley Economic Partnership
California has allocated funds to incentivize the manufacturing and production of alternative fuels and vehicles. Under this program California
can provide grants, loans or other appropriate measures to vehicle and
technology consortia to develop and deploy innovative technologies that
transform California’s fuel and vehicle types. For example funds can be
used to incentivize manufacturing, for vehicle purchasing incentives,
training, charging infrastructure and many other things.
Sales Tax Exemption For Purchase Of
Manufacturing Equipment
The California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing
Authority (CAEATFA) has the ability to provide a sales tax exemption for the
purchase of manufacturing equipment for companies developing and commercializing advanced transportation technologies that conserve energy, reduce air pollution and promote economic development and jobs. Under
this program equipment is purchased by CAEATFA, and therefore exempt
from state and local sales and use tax pursuant to R&T Code 6010.8.
The Coachella Valley Economic
Partnership (CVEP) is the regional public/partnership to
grow and diversify the local
industry base. A plethora of information is available through
the CVEP offices including: introduction to Angel Inventors;
economic impact reports; connectivity to industry councils,
workforce excellence programs,
and the renewable energy
roundtable.
