9.2 Traffic Conditions Prior to Start to Work
Traffic counts, road capacities and Level of Service’s (LOS) for 14
major road links are presented in the 2015 Annual Traffic Count
Update dated April 16, 2015 as provided by the Town of Palm
Beach. This was the most recent traffic data available for the Town.
As shown in the following figures, hourly volume patterns at the
detector station are generally consistent across weekdays. Based
on typical traffic patterns throughout Palm Beach County, traffic
volumes are typically higher on weekdays, with lower overall and
peak hours on Saturdays and Sundays (with Sundays being the
lowest volume during the week).

presented in a series of tables.
A location map of the 14 different roadway link locations is provided at
right. Tables 1, 2 and 3 on the following pages contain traffic volumes,
roadway classes, capacities, volume to capacity ratios, and levels of
service for the 14 links covering daily, AM peak hour, and PM peak
hour.

Based on the hourly traffic volume information provided in the
preceding figures, it is estimated that study area weekday volumes
are generally highest 8 a.m.–10 a.m. and 3 p.m.–5 p.m. and lowest
9 p.m.–5 a.m. Weekday AM peak volumes are generally consistent
with the PM peak volumes. Directionality is well-defined, with
traffic heading onto the island in the AM peak hour and off the
island in the PM peak hour. Study area weekend volumes generally
remain at a sustained level from 7 a.m.–7 p.m..
