W VOLI LA .PAL WW O.IT AM play I think when I was 13. I played soccer when I was young but became too tall at about that age and my sister said I should try volleyball so I did and I loved it! I also played basketball and thought I would play that forever until I really started to play competitive volleyball. So probably at about age 16 I knew volleyball was what I wanted to pursue seriously. There have been so many little moments that led me to where I am, many people that have guided me and I am so thankful for all of them”. Her sporting course winds, as usual in the United States, through the various phases of school life, to arrive at Pepperdine University. Her life as an athlete is an authentic experience of sport, made of sacrifice and sharing, and therefore even more memorable, despite the lack of victories: “My travel team in high school was one of my favorites. We won some tournaments together and became really good friends along the way. And I also had one of my favorite coaches of all time on that team. Also in college we made it to the final 8 of the national championship tournament and lost a heart breaking match 3-2. I went to a small college so making it that far was a big accomplishment once again with some of my best friends on the team. Of course the best victory of my career was in World Championships Cup!”. Kim has reached the latest victories in the role of wing-spiker. This role has been chosen for her, with great foresight, just as Karch Kiraly: “I actually did not choose this position.
