Since 1938 , Palestine has celebrated the Dogwood blooms . Enjoy the delicate beauty of the dogwood trees in Davey Dogwood Park the last two weekends in March and first weekend in April . Activities are scheduled each weekend to compliment the celebration , including the Dogwood Festival , stained glass tours of historic churches , historic and architectural tours , Sunday morning brunch and so much more .
