AMERICAN FREEDOM MUSEUM: The American Freedom Museum features two galleries: The Hall of Presidents and the Hall of American Freedom. The Hall of American Freedom features items related to America’ s military struggles from the Revolutionary War to the present. The museum contains more than 650 artifacts.

BIRMINGHAM GOLF CLUB: The Birmingham Golf Club is a family-owned, nine-hole regulation course with a par of 36. A portion of the course sits atop once was part of the 1800s iron ore boom town of New Birmingham. Players occasionally find remnants of the era such as horseshoes, railroad spikes or arrowheads. The ground crew includes free range goats and chickens, which add to the experience.

BUCKNER PARK: Buckner Park is 13 acres of outdoor recreational space that features basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, playground equipment, a gazebo, picnic tables, a pavilion and restrooms. The park is open from 6 a. m. to 10 p. m. daily.
Buckner Park is also the home of the city’ s public pool, named the Summers A. Norman Aquatic Center. The pool is open from noon to 5 p. m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 6 p. m. Sunday. Admission is $ 1 per resident and $ 2 per non-resident for each session. Children age three or younger are admitted for free. Children age 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older at all times.
