Blazing through summer

Summers in Texas are tough, and this one has been a scorcher so far. What makes the summer bearable in East Texas are cool breezes through the shady pines, beautiful landscapes, water activities, cold glasses of iced tea and AC. This edition of Palestine Magazine features all of that and more.
In this edition we introduce our readers to Edah Fields, a Elkhart event venue where you can enjoy beautiful gardens of flowers, learning about making bouquets and a laid back experience outdoors.
There’ s an interview with the producer of Ellen Temple about the newly released“ Neches River: Wild Heart of East Texas,” documentary film and information about where you can attend a screening. You can also catch it on PBS if you would rather watch from home.
We visit Dead Cat Ranch, an Anderson County ranch resort where you can enjoy some an outdoor adventure or unwind and relax.
Columnist Chris Keller shares a story about a 15,000-gallon mistake that forced the company he worked for to pour“ good beer” down the drain.
Don’ t forget to check and see if you or someone you know made it in this edition’ s Around Town photo collage. As always, a special thank-you to our readers and advertisers for making this magazine possible and supporting local journalism. Communities and businesses thrive when they support each other. We hope everyone will explore, shop and eat locally today and everyday.
Wishing you the best summer season and a much cooler fall, with lots of community and family fun.
Best wishes and warmest regards,

PennyLynn Webb
