Spring into fun and explore Palestine
It has been a pleasant spring in East Texas this year, not too hot, not that many storms and lots of events to enjoy!
Sunny spring days make me excited about getting out in the community and exploring our downtown businesses for some retail therapy and fine dining! It’ s also a great time to stroll around and see the new Art Tracks sculpture tour downtown or visit the Palestine Farmers Market.
Spring in Palestine is a great time to get out and enjoy all the free outdoor fun opportunities available. Many may not realize that the city of Palestine has multiple city parks- with tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, pavilions, workout areas and more. They also maintain four lakes for fishing, kayaking and boating. There are opportunities for hiking and biking. Kids can enjoy a splash pad and there is also a city swimming pool for residents to enjoy. Learn about all of this and more in this month’ s edition.
We also visit with the President of Texas Garden Club, Inc. Linda Jean Brown who hails from Anderson County. Look for a few familiar faces in our Around Town photo pages and learn about hazy IPAs in Chris Keller’ s beer column.
As always, a special thank-you to our readers and advertisers for making this magazine possible and supporting local journalism. Communities and businesses thrive when they support each other. We hope everyone will explore, shop and eat locally this spring! Wishing you the best summer season, with lots of community and family fun!
Best wishes and warmest regards,
PennyLynn Webb
