It ’ s been a fast , but fun summer in Palestine this year with lots of community events to attend . At the end of May , Kurt Herrington and his family hosted an outdoor luncheon for local law enforcement officers . The winners of the Palestine Masonic Lodge ’ s June E . Lee Steen Memorial Golf Tournament were Hudson Dear , Reed Braley and ( not pictured ) Randy Wages . The Sath sent out its gratitude to the community after selling completely out of donuts on National Donut Day , June 2 . BARC The Anderson County Humane Society raised $ 54,000 at its Evening Under the Stars Gala in July . The Palestine Area Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting for several new members including Jennifer Willard Photography , Nickel Manor and The Lemon Spot . The Junior Service League held its annual Back-to- School Supply Fair and a new military themed mural was painted on the building wall on the west side of Zipps Liquor Store .
