“ My intention is to ultimately continue to consider the museum as my father ’ s legacy and utilize their stories to proliferate American values ,” he said . “ My other passion in life is style , aesthetic , photography , and black and white illustration .”
Distilling and stylizing the world through black and white , some of Davis ’ s ink drawings are inspired by the high fashions of the post-World War II era . He admired the exquisite style of the dresses his mother wore at presidential inaugurations and later sought to capture beauty in nature , art , fashion and decor .
More than a decade ago his high-fashion ink drawings made their way onto T-shirts as part of a pilot project Davis did with an entrepreneur in Kansas City . The project never got off the ground but showed the popularity of his creative work . He ’ s not disappointed , though , because it just might become his next big idea .
