Sheriff Rudy Flores has been in law enforcement for more than 35 years with prior services at the Galveston County Sheriff ’ s Dept , Galveston PD , Texas DPS and the Texas Rangers . Flores was elected as Anderson County Sheriff in 2020 and again in 2023 . He has a B . S . from Excelsior College in Albany , New York . Flores is accepted in State courts as an expert witness in death investigation , bloodstain pattern analysis , shooting reconstruction and police use of force . He has obtained a Master Peace Officer Certification , Police & Firearms Instructor certifications and over 6,000 hours of accredited training . Flores is married with 2 children and 6 grandchildren .
