Yes , the Hot Rod shop . As if the occupants of the main building weren ’ t already using up all the hot rod mojo .
The Hot Rod shop houses nothing but custom fabrication for cars and trucks . Many pieces must be completely hand-fabricated for use on vehicles with parts that are no longer manufactured or available . Much of the work in this building can be compared to art or music created and conceived in a studio .
“ I ’ ve always been passionate and driven to build something cool for someone ,” Ripley said . “ Seeing your work out at a car show or seeing someone driving or enjoying it , it ’ s just a feeling that ’ s hard to explain .” The old saying is apparently true , “ Do something you love , you ’ ll never work a day in your life .”
Ripley hopes to create a car culture in Anderson County conducive to classic , vintage and hot rod car get-togethers that support the entire community , but custom work isn ’ t all Railyard offers .
