THE NEW YEAR Get Out and Move Let’s look at a few movements using things you may have access to like a barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell, sandbag, tree, rock and log. You can usually find something to climb and lift anywhere you go. • • • • • • CLIMB FOOT-HAND CRAWL DEADLIFT RUN PRESS CARRY You can climb more than a tree, perform multiple variations of a crawl, and lift, carry and press all kinds of stuff in many different ways. Once you know the basic lifts and movements, your imagination is the only limiting factor. Here are a few different variations. BEGINNER / 4 ROUNDS (INDOOR/OUTDOOR): • • • Dead hang 10 seconds Foot-hand crawl 20 meters Chest carry 25 pounds 20 meters INTERMEDIATE / 4 ROUNDS IN THE WOODS OR PARK: • • Climb up and down tree, 40-meter foot-hand crawl to another tree, up/down Lift and chest carry 40-pound rock 40 meters INTERMEDIATE / 5 ROUNDS (INDOOR/OUTDOOR): Do you ever think about the way you breathe?
