The 1984 action adventure movie, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, follows Indiana Jones who is asked by a village to find a mystical stone. When Chief Hopper is in the tunnels his silhouette completely resembles Indiana Jones. When Chief Hopper loses his hat in season two, Chapter Five, he goes back and gets it, something that Indiana Jones is famous for doing. The Duffer brothers have stated that the scene where Max drives to pumpkin patch is pretty much a shot-for-shot remake of the Short Round. In the finale of season two, Nancy drives the Shadow Monster out of Will with a fire poker. This scene is similar to when Jonathon pulled a similar move on Indiana except he used a torch. In Chapter Six, Nancy and Jonathon consider staying in separate rooms at Murray’ s ends up a lot like the scene between Indiana and Willie Scott. The Goonies is also referenced in season two again. Bob is the one who figures out that Will’ s drawings form a map of Hawkins. Mike explains to Bob that the objective is to find X. This is a nod to the kids in The Goonies using a treasure map in order
