Erich Garbers, Tippmann Sports
X3: Is the recent acquisition of Tippmann by GI
Sportz going to have any impact on the way Tippmann handles tech support with dealers and
customers?
Erich: There are absolutely no changes that are going to take effect with either GI Sportz or GI Group;
however we determine what it’s going to be called.
We’re committed to maintaining the Tippmann way
of warranty service/service as it’s been throughout
all the years.
X3: Let’s talk technology. Tippmann has a few
game changing items in the works. Can you tell
our readers anything to whet their appetites?
Erich: There’s a couple. Such as the new Tippmann M4 Airsoft gun. It is a
very nice, high tech airsoft gun that’s easy to maintain. We wanted to come
into the market with basically, the Model 98 for Airsoft. A very reliable, easy
to work on airsoft marker. Because historically, airsoft guns are not easy
to work on. And when they fail, they’re broke; they’re done; they’re over;
that’s it. So this new M4 from Tippmann has a Model 98 engine, it has the
rear bolt and it has the valve system. It has the sear, so it’s very reliable and
proven. It’s a great design and we think it’s going to be a great improvement for the Airsoft world.
The new mag-fed gun, the TCR, is based on the TiPX, with some improvements. The mag-fed world has been asking Tippmann for a full sized rifle.
We felt this was the best way to do it. We came out with a gun that can have
multiple air sources with a remote line or CO2 cartridges and there’s future
air sources coming out. So we’ll probably have an air-thru stock or an air-thru stock that contains a tank.
