The Copenhagen Ducks win here really came
out of nowhere as they had finished in 20th
and 19th place in the past two events. Hulk’s
second place finish keeps them at the top of
the SPL1 rankings list.
SPL2 Bitburg winners Outlaw Lille picked
up where they left off here in Basildon with
three straight preliminary round wins. Fighter Pro-Shar Perm and Redball Paris also had
three first round wins, and all three of these
teams looked great on the way to the 16
round. And their stellar play continued as all
three easily won the 16 matchups. Redball
Paris and Fighter Pro-Shar Perm again took
care of business in the quarterfinals but Outlaw Lille wasn’t so lucky as they were beaten
by Hellys Montpellier 4-2. But Fighter ProShar Perm and Redball Paris would advance
through the semifinals and meet in the finals.
After a 5th and 10th place finish in the first
two Millennium events Redball Paris extended
their great play all the way to the end, beating Fighter Pro-Shar Perm 4-2 to take first
place. Hellys Montpellier won a touch match
against Breakout Spa 2 to take third.
Bitburg winners Indecence Les Fourgs come
into this event as the team to beat in OD1.
The rankings leaders in the division won their
first two preliminary round games but then
lost their third to GI London Defiance 2-3. In
the 16 round Indecence Les Fourgs bounced
back nicely with a 4-0 win over Paintschool
Veckring and in the quarterfinals they beat a
very god team in Montreal Image 4-1.
In the OD1 semifinals Low Life Uddevalla
knocked off Lithuania’s Diaspora Vilnius 3-1,
while Indecence Les Fourgs kept the ball
rolling with another win against Section Paradise Annecy 4-2. In the finals Indecence
Les Fourgs would be one game away from
back-to-back Millennium Series wins but they
would need to beat Low Life Uddevalla to do
so. And beat them they did with an impressive 4-2 win.
