71 In the quarterfinals amazingly Edmonton Impact again won their match 5-0 again, this time beating Outrage Valence. Frankfurt Syndicate beat Paris Camp Carnage, Houston Heat won its match against last event’s runner up Breakout spa and Polar Bears Tarko Sale got by Marseille Icon by a single point. In the semifinals matchup between two North American teams it was Houston Heat scoring the first Campaign Cup points against Edmonton Impact, but it wasn’t enough. Impact took the match 5-2. Joining them in the finals would be Polar Bears Tarko Sale who sent Frankfurt Syndicate home one round early with a 3-2 win. Once again in the finals Edmonton Impact proved to be too strong, too fast and too surgical as they easily handled a very good team, beating the Russian team Polar Bears Tarko Sale 5-2 to win their third straight Millennium Series event. Houston Heat beat Frankfurt Syndicate 4-3 to claim third place in the CPL. In the SPL1 the Copenhagen Ducks were very lucky to survive a slow start in the preliminary rounds. After an opening game loss, they bounced back to win a one-point match and then put forth a much stronger effort against Scorpions Milano, squeaking into the round of 16. In the 16 the Ducks won another tough one-point battle, this time against FiveStar Lleida, 2-1. Keeping with the “barely made it” theme the Ducks then won another 2-1 game against Ranger Warsaw in the quarterfinals. Guess what happened in the semifinals? Yes, another one-point win by the score of 3-2 over Drammen Solid. Could the Ducks roll all the way to a championship with one-point victories? Yes they could, and yes they did as they beat Hulk Kiev in the finals 2-1. Drammen Solid took third place with a win over Amsterdam Heat. WWW.PAINTBALLX3.COM
