The Millennium Series truly is international paintball competition. And at its highest
level, the CPL, the competition is fierce. The
top five ranked teams in the CPL hail from
five different countries. And the SPL1 and
SPL2 are just as diverse at the top. The best
teams in the world are no longer from the
U.S. only. We finally have truly competitive
worldwide play in 2014.
The Campaign Cup, held near London annually has
been in existence for more than 17 years. In fact
the Campaign Cup predates the Millennium Series
itself. So in many ways this is an historically significant tournament. And heading into this event many
are wondering if we’re going to witness another step
in an historic run by Edmonton Impact. This third
event of the season is an opportunity for Impact to
keep their unbeaten season alive, after winning the
first two Millennium Series events earlier this season.
So what did Impact do? How about winning their
first three games in the CPL 5-0, -0 and 5-0? They
were the only team with a perfect 15-0 score in the
CPL through the preliminary rounds but they weren’t
the only team to go undefeated. Frankfurt Syndicate, Polar Bears Tarko Sale and Breakout Spa also
went undefeated in the CPL’s preliminary rounds.
