There were some great early round matchups in the CPL. Edmonton Impact defeated
Art Chaos 3-2 in Group A. Toulouse TonTons
won an exciting game versus Houston Heat
by a single point and GK Paris beat Hellwood
Paris 4-2 in Group B. In Group C Breakout
Spa easily defeated Vision Marseille 5-0, while
Frankfurt Syndicate won a close 4-3 game
against Outrage Valence. As the CLP Preliminary rounds continued it became clear that
Breakout Spa was going to be very tough to
beat. In their three first round games they
outscored their opponents 14-1! Polar Bears
Tarko Sale were the only other team to win all
of their preliminary round matches.
The CPL Quarterfinal round games were all close, with
extremely competitive points game after game. Edmonton Impact defeated Toulouse Tontons, Houston Heat
beat Offenburg Comin At Ya, Breakout Spa sent Art Chaos home and Polar Bears Tarko Sale beat Frankfurt Syndicate. Three of the four matchups were won by a single
point. In the Semifinals Polar Bears Tarko Sale had their
chances of winning the event squashed by Edmonton Impact, who beat them 3-0. Breakout Spa continued their
great play in the Semifinals as they beat Houston Heat
3-2.
Once again in the finals both matches were one-point
games. In the battle for third place Polar Bears Tarko
Sale beat Houston Heat 3-2. In the battle for first it was
Edmonton Impact dashing the hopes of Breakout Spa
2-1. It was the first game Breakout Spa lost all event. For
Edmonton Impact it was their second straight Millennium
Series CPL first place finish.
In the SPL1 (Semi Professional League 1) there were 24
teams competing for first place supremacy. The Ukraine’s
Hulk Kiev took first place in Puget-Sur-Argens and they
were back to take on Amsterdam Heat, ML Kings Prague,
Rangers Warsaw, Roosters and all the other strong competition the SPL1 has to offer. And although it didn’t start
