41 The Games The PSP Professional rankings title usually comes down to the World Cup--not this year. Heading into the Cup Edmonton Impact virtually had the title locked up. Only a bottom showing at the Cup could even make the title race interesting. Impact has had a great season pre World Cup with a win in Chicago, two second place finishes and a sixth place in Dallas. Tampa Bay Damage heads into the Cup with a stranglehold on second place, with the LA Ironmen in third. The recently (post World Cup) disbanded Omaha Vicious has had four straight top seven finishes in the Pro ranks headed into the World Cup. Coming into this event some- how Dynasty would not be playing in the Champions division after being relegated to the Challengers division at the PSP West Coast Open. And last event’s winners Art Chaos looks for some consistency at the Cup after an up and down first four events. In the Professional preliminary rounds Tampa Bay Damage did what they often do going undefeated in their four games. Art Chaos, Edmonton Impact, San Antonio X-Factor and the LA Ironmen each won three preliminary round games. Somehow Moscow Red Legion lost all four of their first round games and Houston Heat managed only one preliminary round win. Photos by Gary Baum WWW.PAINTBALLX3.COM
