interview By John Amodea Joey, what is the history of Type 3 Paintball Team? When did you form? How did you form? Type 3 formed in 2008 from a group of five friends that played paintball in a one acre field belonging to one of the members. We built the field ourselves and would invite others to come and play against us. After about a year we started traveling to scenario events. Our team really started to grow in 2011 with the opening of Levena Paintball in Lafayette, LA. We recruited about 14 new members at that time. 2012 brought about a new chapter in Mandeville, LA and along with that a new field sponsor in Paintball Command. This year we started a new chapter in Gulfport, MS and we now have 30 active members and 3 inactive members. What is the team’s purpose? What is your mission? Our mission statement and team slogan is “Operating at a higher frequency,” which means displaying good sportsmanship and promoting the sport of paintball in a positive way all while competing at a high level. Team camaraderie is very important to us and we think of ourselves more as a family than a team and I think that shows as we do many things outside of paintball together as a group. speedball tourneys. How many events have you played? We have played in more than 20 events to date. What is the furthest you’ve traveled for a paintball event, individually or as a team?
