What’s NExt for Paint
In 1991 I started my
first paintball magazine
(PCRI) and although the
masthead and logo has
changed over the years, I
have not missed a month
of publishing in 24 years.
Publishing the truth and
telling the story of the
game of paintball without the sugar-coating is
what I have done for 24
years. And now the masthead and logo are going to
change one more time but
the message will not.
When we founded PaintballX3 Magazine in December of 2008 the vision
was simple. The game’s
participation had dropped
dramatically and collectively as an industry I felt
we were promoting the
wrong message. I wrote
a blog series called “What
Have We Done To Our
Game?” and that message became the platform

for the editorial style that
PaintballX3 was to operate
under. Our vision was to
cover the woodsball, scenario and gear side of the
game with as much vigor as the tournament side
had been covered in magazines for years. And although our balance wasn’t
always perfect, we stuck
to the plan in the best way
our independent resources allowed us to.
This is the very last issue that will carry the
PaintballX3 logo. But the
new logo will represent
the same ideals. And the
new logo will have a much
greater pool of resources to draw from. The new
logo is simply the branding
that will represent a new
partnership that I am a
part of. A new media company is forming that will
publish our new magazine
as well as bring together
